Sweety murder: NGOs demand CBI probe

KURUKSHETRA: Various non-government organizations (NGOs) pressure groups on Monday joined the kin of Sweety, the slain victim of rape and murder, to protest police failure in cracking the murder case while demanding the transfer of case to central bureau of investigations.
Assembled under the banner: sanyukt sangharsh samiti, 500 members and representatives of various groups started the protest outside the mini secretariat and raised anti-establishment slogans all day.In a memorandum given to the deputy commissioner, the samiti also sought time bound disciplinary action against the then superintendent of police, Kurukshetra.
Prominent among those who joined the dharna included MLA Ashok Arora from INLO, Suresh Sharma from HJC (BL) and Dhuman Singh Kirmich from BJP.
