It’s past noon, yet there are no signs of serpentine queues ending any time soon at GMC’s medicine out-patient department (OPD). Restless patients have been waiting here since morning and security personnel are on their toes.
The security staff are helpless as the OPD remains crowded with over 100 patients lining-up every morning. Fights are common as some patients use their connections to get in before others by breaking the queue.
