The injured were identified as Pavilesh, Nijesh, Abhilash, Sajith, Vijith and Vijinesh. They were admitted to Vadakara co-operative hospital, but shifted to the medical college at night.
Locals who gathered at the spot after hearing the sound of the explosion were the first to see the explosives. Initially they thought that it had to do with some festival. They became doubtful upon seeing some injured men being shifted in jeeps and other vehicles.
Soon the police were alerted and subsequent search on Wednesday night yielded 40 steel bombs, 5 kilograms of explosives and other bomb making material. Half finished bombs were also found at the scene.
