Stalin, in his condolence message, said, “Saroj Goenka not just excelled in media and industrial sectors, but was also a good human being and a philanthropist.”

Recalling Saroj Goenka’s association with former chief minister M Karunanidhi, Stalin said when she established the Express Avenue mall in Royapettah in Chennai, it was Karunanidhi who inaugurated it in 2010.

In his condolence message, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K Selvaperunthagai said Saroj Goenka was successful in running both the Indian Express and the Dinamani.

Recalling the 10-acre land donated by Saroj Goenka for differently-abled people, Selvaperunthagai said she was a philanthropist who had worked for the welfare of the poor and donated money for flood relief.
