Sohrabuddin case accused Vanzara to contest Gujarat polls

Former IPS officer D G Vanzara, who is an accused in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Ishrat Jahan encounter cases, would contest the 2017 Gujarat assembly elections.“The roadmap is ready. I may or may not join a party but I will certainly contest state assembly elections...,“ he said on Thursday.

AHMEDABAD: Former IPS officer D G Vanzara, who is an accused in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Ishrat Jahan encounter cases, would contest the 2017 Gujarat assembly elections.“The roadmap is ready. I may or may not join a party but I will certainly contest state assembly elections...,“ he said on Thursday.
Vanzara, who recently returned to Gujarat after nine years following modification in his bail conditions, said “I was in public service and the assembly elections in 2017 cannot be ignored if the people of Gu jarat are to be served.“
Vanzara attended an RSS function re cently in Ahmed abad, where the orga nisation's chief Mo han Bhagwat was the main speaker.

He was arrested on April 24, 2007 along with two other IPS officers Rajkumar Pandian and Dinesh M N in Sheikh's encounter case. He was later arrested in Jahan encounter case.
