GUWAHATI: Six ULFA militants surrendered with arms before Kamrup (Rural) Deputy Commissioner R C Jain at a function here on Saturday.
The six activists deposited three grenades and three pistols to the deputy commissioner.
The ultras are Jitu Das, Chitra Boro (both from ULFA's 109 battalion), Dwijen Deka (27 battalion), Akhil Das, Niranjan Bezbarua (both 709 battalion) and Guru Prasad (28 battalion, ULFA's elite strike force).

The six militants have surrendered due to the efforts of Kamrup superintendent of police Debojit Hazarika.
This was the first surrender of ULFA insurgents before the Kamrup (rural) D C.
