Sheila Dikshit dead; leaders pay glowing tributes to Delhi ex-CM
NEW DELHI: Veteran Congress leader Sheila Dikshit passed away on Saturday at the age of 81. Leaders across the political spectrum paid glowing tributes to the senior leader, who was the chief minister of Delhi from 1998 to 2013.
President Ram Nath Kovind called "her term in office a period of momentous transformation for the capital for which she will be remembered". Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Sheila Dikshit had made a noteworthy contribution to Delhi's development.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said he was shocked to hear about the death of Sheila Dikshit. "In her death the country has lost a dedicated Congress leader of the masses. People of Delhi will always remember her contribution to Delhi's development during her tenure as CM for 3 term, " the former PM said.
Rahul Gandhi called her a beloved daughter of the Congress party and said he was devastated to hear about her death. "I shared a close personal bond with her," Rahul said on Twitter.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said she is deeply saddened by the demise of Sheila Dikshit Ji. "She loved me, whatever she did for Delhi & the country, people will remember it. She was a big leader of party, her contribution towards party, politics of nation and especially to Delhi, is immense," she said.
