Sedition charges on Dera chief's aides

PANCHKULA: Haryana police slapped sedition charges on Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s aides on Sunday for allegedly inciting people to violence in Panchkula.

, Dera spokesperson, and local coordinator Dhiman Insan (Surender Dhiman) on the instructions of the Punjab and Haryana high court, which took cognisance of a Hindi newspaper report giving a detailed depiction of the alleged role played by the duo along with others in inciting violence.

Haryana DGP BS Sandhu said, “We have constituted a special investigation team. We will record statements of Aditya Insan and Dhiman Insan.

An appropriate action will follow,” Sandhu said. Panchkula police commissioner AS Chawla said, “We will first have to submit the details in the HC, and only after that we can make them public.”
