NEW DELHI: In a document on security, defence and foreign policy released on Saturday, the Congress has accused the NDA of failure to ensure connectivity between the intelligence agencies and the security forces leading to serious consequences for the country.
the Congress also found fault with the government''s initiatives in normalising relations with Pakistan.
The policies related to Pakistan, the document said, "have been a saga of contradictions and confusion".
The target clearly was Prime Minister Vajpayee. The Prime Minister, the Congress charged, has "lacked clarity, consistency and conviction while dealing with Pakistan."
Moving on to the foreign policy front, the main opposition party found fault with what it saw as the government''s "willingness to adjust the priorities of the United States without giving due attention to India''s own vital foreign policy and national security interests."
