NEW DELHI: In a major relief to the Hinduja brothers, the Supreme Court on Thursday allowed all three brothers, accused in the Rs 64-crore Bofors pay-off case, to go abroad together.
Having over Rs 10,000 crore investments in India, the Hinduja brothers — Sri Chand, Prakash Chand and Gopi Chand — were earlier granted bail on furnishing personal bonds of a whopping Rs 15 crore each but the SC had said that one of the three would stay back to face the trial.

The last time all three went abroad together was to celebrate Diwali. On Thursday, a Bench said if the CBI appeal against Delhi high court order quashing the chargesheet was allowed, the Europe-based brothers would have to appear before the trial court.
The Bench rejected their plea for granting permission for their stay abroad till the trial, which was stayed by the apex court, resumes.
