ASANSOL: Trinamool Congress national secretary Mukul Roy's former aide Asif Khan, who is now in custody, has dragged Mamata Banerjee's blue-eyed boy and state minister Firhad Hakim's name into the
Saradha scam controversy.
"CBI will call Firhad Hakim after Mukul Roy for questioning," Khan said on Wednesday.
His lawyer Meerza Munir Beg told TOI that Khan had already submitted names of 121 Trinamool leaders for having a hand in the Saradha scam.
Beg also complained that Mukul's son and Trinamool Congress MLA Subhrangshu Roy owned a hotel named Little India in Singapore.
"CBI is verifying information it has received from my client," the lawyer said.
While being taken to the Asansol ACJM court from Barrackpore on Wednesday in connection with the Saradha case, Khan dropped Hakim's name. It has sprung a surprise among Trinamool ranks because Hakim's name never came up in the recorded statements of the main undertrials.
