The yesteryear actor and singer is the second Pakistani artiste to seek a means to residence. In January Pakistani singer Adnan Sami was given Indian citizenship under the citizen by naturalisation category. He had been residing in India for the past few years.

Agha, a British citizen and grand-daughter of old time actor Jugal Kishore Mehra and actress Anwari Begum, had recently written to the home ministry seeking OCI by citing her Indian roots and clarifying that she has never held Pakistani citizenship.
