RSS to deliberate on SIR, mark Guru Tegh Bahadur and Birsa Munda anniversaries
NEW DELHI: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will deliberate on Special Intensive Revision (SIR) — along with other contemporary, national, and social issues — and commemorate two key anniversaries at its Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal Baithak, scheduled from October 30 to November 1, 2025, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The Sangh will issue statements on the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on November 24 and the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda on November 15, with programmes to be organised across the country.
Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar said that Swayamsevaks nationwide will participate in events commemorating the two icons — Guru Tegh Bahadur, who made the supreme sacrifice in 1675 to uphold Dharma, and Birsa Munda, the revered tribal leader and freedom fighter. “These observances will be part of a series of nationwide programmes highlighting the spirit of selflessness, sacrifice, and social harmony that both great men embodied,” Ambekar said.
The three-day Jabalpur meet will also review the Sangh’s ongoing centenary-year activities and plans for 2025–26. The RSS, which completed 100 years on October 2, 2025, will assess its Shatabdi Yojana progress, including the Grah Sampark Abhiyan—a 25–40-day outreach campaign through which Swayamsevaks meet people across prants to explain the Panch Parivartan initiative and share Sangh literature. “In some regions, the campaign is already underway,” Ambekar added.
The meeting will be attended by RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, all six Sah-Sarkaryavahs, Akhil Bharatiya Karyavibhag Pramukhs, and executive members from all 46 prants. Around 407 senior karyakartas are expected to participate in discussions on the organisation’s expansion, centenary-year targets, and follow-up on issues raised in Bhagwat’s Vijayadashami address.
The RSS will also review recent centenary celebrations in Nagpur, where former President Ram Nath Kovind attended as chief guest and over 14,000 Swayamsevaks participated in a path sanchalan. A nationwide lecture series will continue in Bengaluru (Nov 7–8), Kolkata (Dec 21), and Mumbai (Feb 6–7).
