Rs 45L Haryana house sold for US gamble, son back in 4 months
KARNAL: A family in Haryana's Karnal, like countless others in state and elsewhere, sold their house for Rs 45 lakh to fulfil their son's American dream, only for him to be sent back Saturday after four months to Amritsar along with other deportees.
Devastated by Anuj's return after he took the "donkey route" to give wings to his dream, his family in Jundla village is now seeking govt intervention to prevent others from being duped by dubious travel agents. Of the 116 deportees who arrived Saturday in Amritsar on a US military plane, 33 are from Haryana. Of the 33, nine hail from Karnal. Anuj's father Ashok made a fervent appeal to Centre for strict action against such travel agents.
