Renowned literary scholar and Avadhani Dr Dhulipala Mahadeva Mani to receive Sahiti Puraskaram

Guntur: Renowned literary scholar and avadhani, Dr Dhulipala Mahadeva Mani will receive the prestigious “Sahiti Puraskaram” from Sahiti Samakhya on the occasion of Telugu new year-Ugadi festival. High Court judge Justice U Durgaprasada Rao will present the award at a function to be held at Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram in the city. Oscar award winning lyricist, Chandrabose will receive Atmeeya Puraskaram.

Sahiti Samakhya general secretary SVS Lakshminarayana and president Dr DVSB Rammurthy told the media here on Thursday that “Krodhi” Ugadi Sahiti vasontotsvam would be held on a grand scale on April 9. Lakshminarayana said that Dhulipala Mahadeva Mani is a professor at Andhra Yuvati Kalasala, Rajahmundry and Sanskrit Scholar. He said that Dr Mani is a profound speaker on sastras, puranas, and vedas. “His desire to share his wealth of knowledge lends itself to the numerous number of discourses, speeches, and pieces of literature that he has provided to the spiritual groups of Telugu people across the world. He has been working to the preservation of the values and culture” said Lakshminarayana.

He said that Kendra Sahitya academy award winner Dr K Sivareddy, Dr Dhulipalla Mahadeva Mani, Chandrabose, lyricist Dr Andesri, Satavadhani Bulusu Aparna, young avadhani Uppaladhadiyam Bharatha Sarma would grace the literary festivities. He said that district collector M Venugopala Reddy would preside over the function in which Sri Kanakadurga temple executive officer MS Ramarao would be the guest of honour. He said that High Court judge justice U Durgaprasada Rao has consented to be the chief guest of the occasion and present the awards.

Sahiti Samakhya ugadi literary awards are considered very prestigious as several top Tollywood directors including K Viswanath, Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, Indraganti Mohana Krishna, actor Bramhanandam, lyricists Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry, Suddala Ashok Teja, Jonnavithula Ramalingeswara Rao, Anantha Sriram, poet Darbhasayanam Srinivasacharya, ghazal maestro Srinivas, Garikapati Narasimha Rao, writer Dr C Mrinalini received the awards in the past.
Sahiti Samakhya secretaries R Ramu and P Ramachandra Raju were also present.
