NEW DELHI: Alleging dilution of 'Hindu' terror cases,
Congress on Friday demanded removal of the
NIA chief and suggested that the
Supreme Court monitor such cases being handled by the premier investigation agency.

Ajoy Kumar
said, alleging that the Modi government is weakening NIA and putting pressure on the agency.
Kumar alleged that the BJP government is undermining NIA by using it for partisan politics.
"Since the Modi government came to power, an alarming number of witnesses in terror cases like the Samjhauta Express blasts, Ajmer blast & Malegaon blast have turned hostile," he said.
The Congress spokesperson said the government is trying to get a clean chit to Col Shrikant Purohit, an accused in the
Malegaon blasts
. "Why do the government and NIA not mention the four absconders in the Malegaon blast and how two of them were involved in the Best Bakery case from the Gujarat riots of 2002?" he asked.
"BJP is engaging in Goebellian propaganda and is trying to subvert the public discourse by getting NIA to make a statement that Col. Purohit was not involved in the
Samjhauta Express blast," said Kumar.
The Congress spokesperson said, "In his confession, blast accused
Aseemanand
said he discussed and received an endorsement of his actions from senior
RSS members. This is one of many examples that has the BJP worried. A significant amount of evidence points directly to senior RSS leadership."
Kumar said, "Every effort was being made to safeguard the RSS and prevent the process of justice."
