Religion should be kept out of politics: Sachin Pilot
BHINDI SAIDAN: While accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of allegedly exploiting people's emotions, Congress leader and former Union Minister Sachin Pilot emphasized that religious places, including temples, gurudwaras, mosques, and churches, should remain separate from politics.
He observed that when Congress engages with the public, their focus is on addressing issues like unemployment, inflation, industry, jobs, youth, and women's concerns. In contrast, he claimed that BJP's discourse centers around Hindus, Muslims, Christians, religious symbols, and Pakistan.
Pilot was addressing an election rally here on Wednesday in support of Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency candidate Gurjit Singh Aujla.
Sachin Pilot accused the BJP of playing with the emotions of the people. He said “Country belongs to the people of every religion and is governed by the Constitution, not by any individual preferences” .
He quipped that BJP is seeking another five-year term while it was retiring the youth in just four years through schemes like Agniveer . At the same time Pilot promised that if Congress forms the government, they will legislate for Minimum Support Price (MSP) and abolish the Agniveer scheme.
Continuing his trade against BJP , he accused the saffron party of forgiving Rs 16 lakh crore of industrialists while neglecting the poor. He reiterated Congress's commitment to introducing inclusive schemes, as outlined in their manifesto, ensuring respect and rights for all sections of society.
Appealing to voters to introspect before casting their votes, Pilot urged the people to carefully listen, understand, and analyze the words of all leaders. He encouraged them to consider which party is genuinely fighting for the farmers and consistently stands up for every section of society.
He said that people do not seek sympathy but rather the right to equal opportunities for work, enabling their children to pursue education and employment. He highlighted that Congress MPs and candidates are highly competent, consistently advocating for people's issues in Parliament.
Describing the June 1 elections as decisive, he said that the electorate is determined to bring about change. “If a Congress government is elected, then the people of Amritsar should also have a role in it and their own representative should sit in Delhi and fight their battle,” he said.
Among others who were present on the occasion included Uttarakhand Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya , Govind Singh Dotasara etc.

1) CONgress is the party that has benefited from appeasement politics. They have been doing this for decades. 2) Sachin Pilot should say what he said to people like Owaisi and RGandhi who keep fear mongering on the basis of religion. They will never talk about Pakistan's ji*had against India and will never question the huge negative impact that mull*ahs have on the population.Read allPost comment
