BJP may be biggest national party, but it’s different picture when it comes to the states

Regional parties on top, BJP second
If you add up all the assembly election results from the past five years, you will find that a third of the 4,053 MLAs (32.4%) have been from the BJP, about a fifth (19%) from the Congress, and the majority (41.4%) from other parties (not counting the Left, Aam Aadmi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party).
