Rape charge against Maharashtra education baron’s kin

THANE: Thane police have registered a case of rape against the grandson of an education baron with a political background for allegedly sexually assaulting a 29-year-old woman under the pretext of marriage.

According to the complaint, the woman, a divorcee, met the accused in Jan 2023. Their acquaintance soon turned into friendship, which later developed into a romantic relationship.

The woman stated she got pregnant during their relationship in April 2023. The accused insisted that she undergo an abortion, which she eventually did.

Officials stated they will investigate the complaint.
