As the electoral fervor engulfs Rajkot Parliamentary Constituency in Gujarat, the recent announcement by the Election Commission on March 17 has ignited anticipation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. With polling day set for May 7, Rajkot constituency braces itself for a high-stakes showdown between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC), led by Parshottam Rupala and Pareshbhai Dhanani respectively.

In the electoral saga of the Rajkot parliamentary constituency, the years 2014 and 2019 stand as significant milestones, encapsulating the essence of democratic fervor and the evolving political landscape.

In the 2019 parliamentary elections, the constituency witnessed active participation, with a total of 1,884,339 electors exercising their democratic right. This marked a notable increase from the 1,655,717 electors recorded in 2014, indicative of the growing engagement of citizens in shaping the region's political discourse.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) maintained its stronghold in both elections, with Kundaria Mohanbhai Kalyanjibhai emerging victorious on both occasions. His victory in 2019 was particularly noteworthy, securing 758,645 votes, a testament to his resonance with the electorate and the party's enduring appeal in the constituency.

In 2014, Kundariya Mohanbhai Kalyanjibhai's victory was similarly decisive, with a significant vote count of 621,524. His Indian National Congress (INC) counterpart, Kunvarjibhai Mohanbhai Bavaliya, trailed behind, reflecting the BJP's dominance in the region.

Fast forward to 2019, Kundaria Mohanbhai Kalyanjibhai's electoral triumph continued, with a substantial victory margin of 368,407 votes. Kagathara Lalitbhai from the INC stood second with 390,238 votes, highlighting the enduring presence of both political parties in the electoral fray.
