The BJP crossed the halfway mark in Rajasthan on Sunday, winning 100 seats out of the 199 where assembly elections took place. According to the latest assembly poll results and trends available on the Election Commission website, the BJP won 100 seats and was ahead in 15. The Congress, which was hoping to buck the trend of the incumbent being voted out in the state every five years, bagged 58 seats and was ahead in 11. In the remaining 15 seats, candidates of parties such as the Bharat Adivasi Party and the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party and Independents have either won or are ahead. A party has to win 100 seats for a simple majority in the state. Polling in 199 of the state's 200 seats were held on November 25. The election in Sriganganagar's Karanpur seat was postponed due to the death of the Congress candidate. Four of seven BJP MPs who fought the Rajasthan Assembly elections won their respective seats while three others lost the polls. Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) convener and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal also won from the Khinwsar assembly constituency by defeating BJP candidate Rewant Ram with a narrow margin of 2,059 votes. Rajasthan Election Results 2023: Chief electoral officer says final results expected by 1.30pm
Rajasthan chief electoral officer Praveen Gupta on Sunday said that 12 to 17 rounds of counting of votes have been completed and the final result is expected to be declared by 1.30pm. As per the trends displayed on the website of the Election Commission of India, the BJP was leading on 112 seats in Rajasthan and the Congress on 71 out of the 199 seats that went to polls on November 25. "Counting is going on. So far, 12 to 17 rounds of counting have been completed. The results will be declared in around one hour," Gupta told reporters at the counting centre in Jaipur. Results are expected to be declared by 1.30pm, the official added.

Rajasthan Election Result 2023: Cong's CP Joshi trails behind BJP candidate in Nathdwara seat by over 1,000 votes
Rajasthan assembly speaker CP Joshi was trailing behind his BJP rival Vishvaraj Singh Mewar in Rajsamand district's Nathdwara seat by 1,154 votes as early trends for the state assembly elections poured in on Sunday. Joshi has got 7,262 as against Mewar's 8,416, the Election Commission (EC) website showed. In North Kota constituency, state parliamentary affairs minister Shanti Dhariwal was lagging behind BJP candidate Prahlad Gunjal by 3,490 votes. Dhariwal has got 8,558 votes so far while Gunjal has got 12,048, it showed. Congress candidates took an early lead in some other constituencies. In Jhotwara constituency, the Congress' Abhishek Choudhary is in the lead with 22,360 votes as against BJP candidate Rajyavardhan Rathore's 16,072, according to EC data.

The BJP was leading over the Congress as the initial trends poured in for the assembly elections in Rajasthan on Sunday. Most TV channels showed that the BJP was leading in 100 seats while the Congress on 85. However, the Election Commission website showed that the Congress was leading in four seats and the BJP in one in Rajasthan. Counting of votes polled in the November 25 assembly elections in Rajasthan got underway at 8am amid tight security arrangements. Postal ballots are being counted first which will be followed by the counting of votes polled through Electronic Voting Machines. As many as 1,862 candidates are in the fray for 199 seats.
