CHENNAI: Hours after
PSLV-C47 successfully injected Cartosat-3 and 13 US nanosatellites into orbit,
Isro released a video with clips from the cameras onboard the
launch vehicle
.
The video crisply edited for a 2.33-minute duration begins with the scene at the assembly complex at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota from where the integrated launch vehicle is moved to the second launch pad. The video continues with the vehicle lifting off against an overcast sky and disappearing into thick clouds seconds later.

Wednesday’s launch was PSLV’s 49th flight and 47th successful flight. Cartosat-3, which is the first in the third-generation earth observation satellite, is ninth in the Cartosat series. The camera onboard the satellite is expected to capture images with a spatial resolution of less than 30cm.
“Cartosat-3 is the most complex and advanced earth observation satellite built by Isro so far,” said Isro chairman K Sivan soon after the launch was declared successful.
