Prof's murder unsolved, 3 held for assault
BHOPAL: Three ABVP activists — Vimal Tomar, Shashi Ranjan Akela and Santosh Jain — who surrendered before the Ujjain police on Wednesday, were later arrested in connection with an assault case on Prof L N Nath during the student council election on August 26.
Interestingly, no one has been arrested so far in connection with the murder of Prof H S Sabharwal of Madhav College.
1x1 polls

The police so far only registered a murder case against eight unidentified persons. Sabharwal was beaten to death by a group of students during last Saturday's elections. Two other professors had to be admitted to a hospital in a critical condition.
On Tuesday, Tomar and Akela were shown in a video footage by a local channel threatening professors of Madhav College during the polls, prompting chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to hand over the probe to the state CID.
Sabharwal's murder has put the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh government in the dock, with opposition Congress and its student wing, NSUI, staging a dharna outside the chief minister's official residence and demanding a ban on AVBP, BJP's student wing.
Congress demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for Sabharwal's family and also asked the government to hand over the probe to the CBI.
However, Chouhan turned down Congress demand. Accusing Congress of "politicising" the issue, Chouhan assured all help to Sabharwal's family.
The Madhav College reopened on Wednesday amid tight security where teachers and students were granted entry only after showing ID cards. Himangshu, the son of Sabharwal, told reporters in Ujjain the CID probe was "an eyewash".
