Probe ordered into deaths at Asaram's MP ashram

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh police suspect foul play in the mysterious death of two four-year-old students in religious preacher Asaram Bapu's gurukul in Chhindwara even as the state government ordered a magisterial probe into the incident.
Two persons ��� school teacher Manohar Jaiswal and boys' hostel warden Om Prakash Prajapati ��� were detained by the cops on Friday.Bodies of the two nursery students, Ram Krishna Yadav and Vedanta Manmore, were found within a span of 48 hours in the same bathroom and at around the same time at Asaram Bapu Gurukunj at Palasia Road in Chhindwara.
While Ram Krishna's body was found on the floor on Tuesday at 5pm, Vedanta's body was also discovered around
the same same time two days later. Vedanta's head was found submerged in a bucket full of water.
DGP S K Raut said experts from the medico-legal institute of Bhopal are in Chhindwara for post-mortem. "It raises suspicion as both the bodies have been found at the same spot and at the same time. If the need arises, we'll interrogate Asaram Bapu," said Raut. "The door was found bolted from outside and the boy's head was forced into a bucket of water. We suspect it's an insider who did it."
The death of the two students has left the parents stunned and agitated and at least 25 children have been withdrawn from the gurukul.
When Ram Krishna's body was found on Tuesday, Chhindwara SP R K Shivhare had said the boy had probably slipped on the floor and died because of grievous injuries. Even Ram Krishna's father Mohanlal Yadav and mother Manorama accepted the incident as "destiny". "All my family members are disciples of Asaram Bapu," Mohanlal had said. "Not just my son, but children of all my three brothers study in his gurukul. It's our fate that we lost our son."
