PRO for PM Narendra Modi’s office, Jagdish Thakkar, dies
AHMEDABAD: Jagdish Thakkar, public relations officer at the Prime Minister’s Office and a senior journalist, died at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi on Monday.
Thakkar, 72, had served the same role in
Modi tweeted: “Extremely saddened by the demise of Shri Jagdish Thakkar, the PRO in the PMO.”
“Jagdishbhai was a veteran journalist and I had the pleasure of working with him for years, in Gujarat and in Delhi. He was known for his simplicity and warm-hearted nature.”
In another tweet, Modi said: “We have lost a wonderful person, who loved his work and did it with utmost diligence. Condolences to his family and well-wishers.”
Modi also personally met Thakkar’s family: his wife Vibha, a social worker; and his son and daughter-in-law.
“His integrity and commitment to the work was exemplary,” former CM Keshubhai Patel said.

Thakkar, 72, had served the same role in
Gujarat
