NEW DELHI: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday attacked PM Narendra Modi at her first election rally since assuming charge as Congress general secretary and asked people to vote responsibly in the upcoming

Lok Sabha elections

.

Addressing a rally on PM Modi's home turf, Gujarat, Priyanka said people should start posing questions to the leaders who made big promises in the past. "Where are the 2 crore

jobs

. What happened to the Rs 15 lakh in every bank account promised by the PM," she asked.

Saying that she is not going to deliver a speech but speak straight from her heart, Priyanka said, "I feel agonised when I see the present atmosphere. Hatred is being spread all across the country. Institutions of this country have been demolished but the people can wipe out winds of hatred and turn it into love and harmony."

Attacking the BJP and PM Modi, Priyanka said, "We do not need to pay any heed to frivolous issues, we have to think about what will be done on women security, youths and farmers' issues. Your vote is such a weapon that it does not hurt anyone but it will make you stronger. You have to think deep and responsibly on who you are going to elect in this Lok Sabha election."

"This country has been developed by farmers, my sisters - who worked hard from dawn to dusk - my brothers have made this country. Nobody else has made this country. All of us should realise our responsibility," she said.

The Congress leader said that this is the "second freedom movement" and that voting will be our biggest responsibility to come forward for development of this country.

Addressing the same rally, Congress president Rahul Gandhi while attacking the BJP said that the country is witnessing a struggle between two ideologies.

"Mahatma Gandhi and Gujarat have made this country and today, some other elements are destroying the fabric of this country," he said.

Attacking the BJP over unemployment issues, the Congress president said, "Youths of this country are roaming from one region to another to find a job."

"PM Narendra Modi waives Rs 3.50 lakh crore debt of 15 industrialists but he did not waive loans of our farmers. Our finance minister Arun Jaitley said waiving farmers' loan is not their policy," Rahul Gandhi said.

Slamming PM Modi over the Rafale deal, he said "Modi ji brags about patriotism from every state but he does not speak on what he did to the Indian Air Force with the Rafael deal. Anil Ambani's company did not have any experience of manufacturing an aircraft and yet the deal was given to him."
