CHANDIGARH: The Haryana police on Monday secured the remand of one of the suspects in the terror blasts in 'Samjhauta Express' near Panipat in February last that killed nearly 70 people.
One of suspect in the case Zafar Ali, arrested last month from Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh under the Passport Act for allegedly travelling on fake passport in the name of Mukadam Singh in the ill-fated train, was produced before the High Court here by the police seeking his remand.

Haryana police, probing the incident, moved a court at Ambala recently seeking his police remand on the ground that it had some inputs about his alleged links with the blasts, official sources said here.
However, the court at Ambala dismissed the plea of the police. Subsequently, they moved the High Court for the purpose.
Justice SD Anand of the High Court on Monday accepted the plea of the police for Zafar Ali's remand.
The court directed the accused to be produced before the judicial magistrate at Ambala on Tuesday to decide the duration of the police remand.
SP Railways Bharti Arora said that three persons have been arrested so far in connection with the incident.
