"Pity PM Modi. He gets much hostility because of his unleashed "bhaktrolls". With friends like these who needs enemies?!," Khurshid said.

In series of tweets, Khurshid said, "Banks are cashless, govt is clueless, business is lifeless, workers are hapless, anchors are breathless, farmers are seedless, life is joyless."

Hinting at various raids conducted by the Income tax department across India, seizing new currency notes, Khurshid, on Friday, opined that the corruption has increased even more since the move to demonetise high value old currency was announced.

"Has corruption stopped or increased," he asked.

Earlier, another Congress leader Ahmed Patel had accused the government of "promoting black money" and asked the ruling party to “read history properly.”

"Is it a coincidence that both, Rs 1000 note and Rs 2000 note is a legacy of National Democratic Alliance (NDA). So, who is promoting black money?” Patel had said.
