PM Modi expands his Cabinet: Full list of new Union ministers

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expanded his Cabinet to include 36 new faces. Seven ministers who were already a part of Modi's Cabinet have been promoted.

The seven are Kiren Rijiju, Hardeep Singh Puri, G Kishan Reddy, Mansukh Mandaviya, Anurag Thakur, G Kishan Reddy, Parshottam Rupala and Raj Kumar Singh.

1. Narayan Tatu Rane (Konkan, Maharashtra| 69 years)
* Rajya Sabha MP for Maharashtra, serving his first term
* He has earlier been a 6-time MLA and 1-time MLC in Maharashtra
* He has served Maharashtra as chief minister, as well as cabinet
minister handling important portfolios like industries, revenue,
ports & animal husbandry
* He has been a public representative across different capacities for over 35 years
* From 1971 to 1984, he served in the income tax department



2. Sarbananda Sonowal (Dibrugarh, Assam | 58 years)

* 2-time Lok Sabha member from Assam and two-time MLA
* Served as Assam’s chief minister from 2016 to 2021
* He has earlier served as Union minister of state (Independent charge) for skill development and entrepreneurship; and sports and youth affairs under PM Narendra Modi.
* He has been in public life for 3 decades
* He has an LLB from Guwahati University.

3. Virendra Kumar (Sagar, Madhya Pradesh | 67 years)

* Lok Sabha member from Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh.
* Serving his 7th term as MP
* He has in the past served as Union minister of state for women & child development and minority affairs under PM Narendra Modi
* Has spent over 4 decades in public life in various capacities
* He has a PhD in Child Labour from Dr Harisingh Gour University

4. Jyotiraditya M Scindia (Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh | 50 years)

* Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh
* Serving his 5th term as MP
* He has been Union minister of state (Independent Charge) for Power and Union minister of state for commerce & communications in earlier governments.

5. Ramchandra Prasad Singh (Nalanda, Bihar | 63 years)
