Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took a dig at the audience for a delayed response to his remarks about India becoming the fifth largest economy in the world, saying it takes time to register positivity amid the atmosphere of negativity.The prime minister was speaking at the launch of the National Logistics Policy.

Modi separately thanked foreign leaders who wished him on Twitter besides President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar among others.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 72 on Saturday and marked his birthday by addressing four events covering fields as diverse as wildlife and the launch of logistics policy, as greetings poured in from leaders and other prominent personalities.Dignitaries like President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar lauded his ''nation-building project and transformative vision'' while many others, including his Cabinet colleagues, hailed his contribution to making a "strong and self-reliant" India.

For Indian products to capture world markets, the country has to strengthen its support system. "National Logistics Policy helps in making the support system modern," the prime minister said.

The government, he said, is using technology to strengthen logistics sector. Faceless assessment has started in customs and e-way bills and FASTag are bringing efficiency in the logistics sector.

The world has accepted the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme announced by the government for boosting domestic manufacturing, he said.

The Prime Minister said India is now the world's fifth largest economy and is emerging as a manufacturing hub.

Sagarmala project to connect ports and dedicated freight corridors have started to improve logistics connectivity and systematic infrastructure development work, he said.
