NEW DELHI: Maharashtra MP Raksha Khadse on Suday took oath as minister of state in Modi government 3.0 on Sunday. Khadse won the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from Raver Lok Sabha seat.
Khadse was the youngest MP after winning the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and was re-elected in 2019.
Her father-in-law Eknath Khadse is a senior BJP leader in Maharashtra. He was also the leader of opposition in Maharashtra assembly.
Khadse's husband, Nikhil, had allegedly died by suicide in 2013 at the age of 37. Nikhil, who was BJP's nominee for the legislative council from Jalgaon local self-government constituency, had lost the election in 2010 despite BJP and ally Shiv Sena having adequate numbers.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha election, she retained her Raver seat, defeating NCP-Sharad Pawar's candidate by a margin of 2,72,183 votes.
