WAGAH: The peace bus from Lahore reached the Wagah border at 8.32 am. The bus is carrying 27 passengers and three crew members.
The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation bus is being driven by a driver called Amir Khan, who had also driven the previous Lahore-Delhi bus, before the service was suspended.
However, there were no Indian VIPs waiting to receive the bus.
Earlier, Pakistani Tourism Minister Raess Munir Ahmed gave a colourful send-off to the bus at Lahore. "Pakistan keenly awaits resumption of train service between the two countries," he said while flagging of the ''Dosti Bus'' from the Flattis Hotel terminal.
The bus from Lahore, escorted by armed police, reached the Wagah border check post where it was taken for customs and immigration formalities on the Indian side.
A pilot vehicle and escort vehicle along with two assistant sub-inspectors will accompany the bus to Delhi.
