Amit Shah said that 1055 people were questioned for 3000 hours during investigation in Pahalgam attack, and probe team identified two overground workers who gave shelter to the three terrorists after the attack. These OGWs are in custody.

"The killed terrorists have been also identified by the family members of those killed. Bullets used by terrorists have been verified by FSL as the same as recovered from the killed terrorists," he added.

"In a joint Operation Mahadev, the Indian Army, CRPF and J&K Police have neutralised three terrorists who were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack," home minister Amit Shah said.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur said, "Rahul occupied Congress didn’t allow the leader (Shashi Tharoor) whom PM Modi selected to represent India in other countries. Rahul occupied Congress didn’t give a chance to Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tewari ji. Are they not worthy of it?"

MPs of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) on Tuesday continued their protest against the ongoing Special Intensive Revision in poll-bound Bihar, holding up cartoon posters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi shackling Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar to himself.

MPs of the INDIA bloc have been protesting against the voter roll revision on since the commencement of the monsoon session on July 21 both in an outside of Parliament.

Multiple political leaders including Congress MPs Gaurav Gogoi, Manickam Tagore, Hibi Eden, DMK MP Kanimozhi, JMM MP Mahua Maji, RJD MP Manoj Jha protested in the ongoing rain ahead of the commencement of today's session in Parliament, holding up posters and demanding a halt to the exercise.

Earlier today, Congress MP Manickam Tagore on X a cartoon, mocking the Election Commission of India (ECI) in connection with the recent controversy over the SIR.

The cartoon portrays a man labelled "EC" dressed in uniform and shackled, holding what resembles an EVM (Electronic Voting Machine), with a speech bubble saying "YES SIR." The tweet was captioned with a single, sharp hashtag: #SIR, a clear reference to the recent allegations by opposition parties that the ECI is functioning under pressure from the central government, especially in light of developments in Bihar.

Tagore has accused the Centre, led by BJP of misusing the Election Commission as a political tool to disenfranchise marginalised communities, including the poor, Dalits, and backward castes.

He has alleged that more than 56 lakh voters are being removed from the voter list in Bihar after the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision and termed it an "attack" on democracy.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala moved a notice for Suspension of Business in the Upper House of the Parliament on Tuesday, demanding a discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Bihar.

Writing to the Secretary-General, Rajya Sabha, Surjewala, stated, "I hereby give notice under Rule 267 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Council of States (Rajya Sabha) of my intention to move the following motion for the suspension of business listed for 29 July 2025."

The notice demanded a suspension of the Zero Hour, Question Hour and other business of the day, expressing concern over the SIR exercise in Bihar.

"That this House suspend Zero Hour and the relevant rules pertaining to Question Hour and other businesses of the day to discuss the concerns arising out of the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar ahead of elections, as well as plans for a similar exercise in states such as West Bengal," Surjewala wrote.

"Such actions raise serious concerns about the exclusion of already precarious communities from the electoral rolls in the absence of adequate safeguards, transparency, and due process in their implementation," the notice read.

The Opposition has been flagging the issue in the Parliament. INDIA bloc MPs are set to stage a protest at the Makar Dwar of Parliament on Tuesday at 10:30 AM, ahead of the day's proceedings.

According to the sources, the government has agreed to the opposition's demand to take up the SIR matter in the Lok Sabha Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, signalling a possible floor debate.

Lok Sabha on Tuesday will continue its discussion on Operation Sindoor for the second day.

The Standing Committees on Communications and Information Technology will also table their reports on the action taken by the government on the recommendations made by these panels on various subjects.

Furthermore, reports of standing committees on Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj will also be presented in the Lok Sabha.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address the Lok Sabha today. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to deliver his speech in the evening, according to a government source.

The source said that Home Minister Amit Shah will address the Lok Sabha between 12:00 and 1:00 pm.

The Lok Sabha on Monday afternoon began discussion on 'India's strong, successful and decisive Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The debate was initiated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

The lower house held a discussion on Operation Sindoor months after its initiation, amid the opposition's demand for the same. The discussion concluded at around 1:00 in the morning, with the opposition and ruling party leaders at loggerheads with each other.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh took a swipe at the opposition during discussion on Operation Sindoor in Lok Sabha, stating that focus must not remain on small issues when aiming to achieve a higher feat, since it can divert attention from national security.

"When the aim is to go higher, we should not pay attention to small issues because focusing on issues that remain comparatively small can divert attention from national security," Singh said while addressing the lower house of Parliament on Operation Sindoor.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the speeches delivered by external affairs minister S Jaishankar and defence minister Rajnath Singh during the Parliament debate on Operation Sindoor, calling their interventions “outstanding” and “insightful.”

Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi said, “The speech by EAM Dr. Jaishankar Ji was outstanding. He highlighted how the world has clearly heard India’s perspective on fighting the menace of terrorism through Operation Sindoor.”

On Rajnath Singh’s address in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister said, “An excellent speech by Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh Ji, giving an insightful perspective on the success of India’s security apparatus and the courage of our armed forces in Operation Sindoor.”

Both ministers had mounted a strong defence of the government’s decision to keep the operation classified initially and took on the Opposition for raising doubts about the strike's timing and objectives. While Jaishankar hit out at the Congress for “trying to delegitimise the armed forces,” Rajnath refused to share details about casualties, saying the information was classified and in national interest.

During the Lok Sabha debate on Operation Sindoor, BJP leader Baijayant Panda criticized Congress, pointedly mentioning Shashi Tharoor. Panda suggested the discussion would be more engaging if Congress allowed its capable speakers, like Tharoor, to participate freely. He noted Tharoor's eloquence and expressed pleasure that he spoke in the national interest despite perceived restrictions from his own party leadership.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur said Pakistan's old slogan of "bleed India with a thousand cuts" has failed in the face of India's military response under Operation Sindoor.

“Pakistan used to say 'bleed India with a thousand cuts', but it couldn’t withstand a fight with our Army for even 48 hours. The Opposition must remind Rahul Gandhi that our Army strikes where it hurts the most,” Thakur said in the Lok Sabha.

His remarks came during the debate on Operation Sindoor, as the BJP defended the government’s response to cross-border threats while accusing the Congress of undermining the military’s achievements.
