Pakistan Army fires along LoC, Army Jawan injured

JAMMU: An Indian Army jawan was injured when Pakistani Rangers violated ceasefire on Tuesday, resorting to unprovoked firing and shelling on forward Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri and Poonch sectors.

“Pakistani Army this morning started unprovoked firing on Indian posts and also in the forward border hamlets thus forcing villagers to stay indoors,” an official source said, adding that some of the shells landed near the Army unit of Poonch Brigade.

,” the source said, adding that Indian troops “retaliated effectively and strongly”.

The number of ceasefire violations this year by Pakistan has been the highest in the past eight years.
