NEW DELHI: The Kerala Congress official Twitter account on Friday mocked a wave of identical tweets related to the Tirupati Laddu controversy. The party highlighted the bizarre uniformity of posts from different accounts sharing the same anecdotal experience about the famous temple prasad, captioning it with a cheeky remark: "One nation, one mom."
The tweets, which seemed to replicate each other, all claimed a personal family experience with the Tirupati Laddu. One version read: “For 2-3 years, Amma would fall sick after tasting the Laddu and warned us not to eat too much of it. We brushed it off as her usual paranoia about hygiene. But now, I feel a part of her sensed something terribly wrong with the Laddu."
This viral tweet comes in the midst of a uproar over disturbing allegations that animal fat, including beef, pig fat, and fish oil, were found in the ghee used to prepare the sacred prasad at the Tirumala temple. Lab tests have reportedly confirmed the presence of these ingredients, igniting outrage across the country.
Prominent political figures, including former Andhra Pradesh chief minister
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, have all commented on the controversy. The BJP is now demanding a CBI investigation, calling it an affront to Hindus globally. The scandal has sparked intense debate, with accusations flying and demands for accountability growing louder by the day.
While the controversy swells, the Congress’ lighthearted tweet targeting the unusual uniformity of user complaints adds a touch of irony to an otherwise serious national issue.
