"I'm wearing a pink sari because I'm from the bride's side," said Julia Verdin, small-time actress and long-time friend of the bride.
Verdin and Hurley moved together from London to Hollywood and she has stood by the British model before, during and after her relationship with Hugh Grant.
"I'm so happy Liz has finally found true love. Arun is a great guy," said Verdin at Jodhpur airport. The newly-wed walked out soon after, leading to a virtual stampede at the airport. Dressed in a multi-hued frock, Liz looked every bit the radiant bride. Arun, in an ivory-coloured kurti led the way for his new wife and son Damian, who was slightly frazzled by the popping flashbulbs. Media thronged the exit gates at the airport almost six hours before the celeb couple were to arrive. And they were not disappointed. The desi celeb brigade comprised Gautam and Nawaz Singhania, Jeh, Maureen and Ness Wadia, NY-based yoga expert Juhi Singh, fashion designer Aarti Surendranath with industrialist husband Kailash, Tony and Hasina Jethmalani, Anju and Farhad Taraporewala, Adi and Parmeshwar Godrej. Security is extremely tight with a special team having flown in from London. "We were here in January for a recce. Everything's going fine," said a security officer.
