BHUBANESWAR: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday spoke to his Tamil Nadu counterpart J Jayalalithaa and assures all support to expedite the relief and rescue operation in view of the flood.
Sources in the chief minister’s office said, Naveen has directed special relief commissioner (SRC) P K Mohapatra to be in touch with the Tamil Nadu government for extending support.
“Five teams of Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force are kept in standby position with all equipment. They would start movement immediately after the permission of Union home ministry,” said an officer in the SRC officer.
More than one lakh Odia people are staying in different parts of Chennai.
