With migrant workers returning home, states are trying to woo them back to restart industries

Several states like Punjab, Gujarat and Haryana are now trying to woo back migrant workers to restart industries in the state, which are in serious shortage of manpower.

The exodus of migrant workers from Gujarat due to lockdown has come as a severe blow to industries across various sectors. Two of the most labour intensive industries — the salt refineries of Kutch and Deendayal Port Trust (DPT) at Kandla — have been impacted the most.
