Now, BJP’s Bengal cultural convener resigns from party

KOLKATA: Barely 48 hours before the Bhowanipore bypoll, BJP’s West Bengal cultural convener Suman Banerjee quit the party on Tuesday. Severing all ties with the party that he had joined in 2012, the Tollywood actor said while BJP functionaries talk about working with all, they themselves can’t look beyond their coterie.
On Tuesday afternoon, Suman submitted his resignation to BJP state vice president Pratap Banerjee.This decision, he said, was a result of being “taken for granted” for years.
