MUMBAI: Former MLA and BJP dissident Amit Ghoda has reportedly disappeared after submitting his nomination as an independent candidate for the Palghar constituency. The development follows last week's incident where Shrinivas Vanga of the Shiv Sena was untraceable for over 36 hours after being denied a ticket for the Palghar assembly seat, reports Sandhya Nair.
The Mahayuti alliance partner Sena has nominated former MP Rajendra Gavit for this constituency.
Analysts said Ghoda (42), son of the late Sena MLA Krushna Ghoda, was anticipating either the Palghar or Dahanu constituency. However, Gavit (57) received the Palghar nomination, while BJP's Vinod Meda (41) was allotted Dahanu. The party leadership is currently attempting to convince Ghoda to withdraw his nomination before Monday's deadline. For more than 24 hours, Ghoda has been unreachable, with his mobile phone switched off. He was not available at his Dahanu residence either.
