"The demonetisation move of the (central) government pushed the country's economy to a downward spiral. Indian markets witnessed a decline of 70 to 80 per cent post demonetisation," senior AAP leader and MLA from Dwarka Adarsh Shastri said.

Shastri also said that the nation was being "looted" in the name of cashless economy and the common man was getting troubled.

"People of the country are being looted in the name of digital payment and cashless economy. By demonetising 86 per cent currency of the country they (central government) not only have troubled the citizen of the country but also benefited the big companies doing business of digital payment," he said.

On November 8, central government banned high value notes to curb black money and counterfeit currency. The move triggered a cash crunch across the nation.
