NEW DELHI: North West Delhi constituency, along with six other Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi, will vote in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 25, 2024. The results for the North West Delhi constituency will be announced on June 4.
North West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency is one of the seven parliamentary constituencies in Delhi. This is a Scheduled Caste category seat, comprising parts of North Delhi, North West Delhi, and West Delhi districts. The constituency has a literacy rate of 75.45%.
In the 2019 elections, this constituency had a voter turnout of 58.96%. BJP candidate Hans Raj Hans won the election with a margin of 5,53,897 votes, securing 8,48,663 votes. He defeated Gugan Singh of the AAP, who received 2,94,766 votes.
For the 2024 elections, the BJP has fielded Yogendra Chandolia, while Udit Raj, a former MP from North West Delhi, is contesting on a Congress ticket. Raj previously represented this constituency from 2014 to 2019 as a BJP member.
Despite Hans Raj Hans's significant victory in 2019, the BJP has replaced him with Yogendra Chandolia, a long-time party worker.
The main parties in Delhi include the BJP, which won all seven Lok Sabha seats in the last election, and the INDIA bloc parties, AAP and Congress, which are contesting in alliance.
