No water with terror, govt reiterates to Pakistan
Water and blood cannot flow together, said the govt Thursday while reiterating its position that the Indus Waters Treaty will remain in abeyance till the time Pakistan takes irrevocable action against cross-border terrorism. On the US mediation offer with Pakistan, MEA said any India-Pak engagement has to be bilateral.
The ministry also sought the return from Pakistan of terrorists accused of carrying out attacks in India. "At the same time, I would like to remind you that talks and terror don't go together," said MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, adding that any bilateral discussion on J&K will only be on the vacation of illegally-occupied Indian territory by Pakistan. "On the Indus Waters Treaty, it will remain in abeyance until Pakistan credibly and irrevocably abjures its support for cross-border terrorism. As our PM has said, water and blood cannot flow together," said the official. TNN
