LUCKNOW: Besieged by mounting instances of police complicity in the cover-up of the Nithari serial killings, UP government on Saturday transferred the Noida police chief, under whose watch the probe had started, and suspended tainted circle officer Dinesh Yadav, who stands accused of enjoying prime suspect Moninder Singhs hospitality.Senior superintendent of police, Noida, R K S Rathor was transferred after his name figured in a report submitted by the two-member inquiry team constituted by the state government to fix accountability in the Nithari serial killings.
He swaps places with Rajiv Sabbarwal as SSP, Kumbh Mela Area, Allahabad.
As for Dinesh Yadav, who is allegedly close to Mulayam Singh Yadav's family and was caught in a sting operation briefing the CM's brother Shivpal Singh Yadav about the case, the government obviously decided that defending him could have heavy political costs ahead of state elections.Shivpal, who's the virtual No. 2 in the cabinet and holds PWD and irrigation ministries, had defended Dinesh Yadav on Friday. Till now the government had tried to protect the cop by transferring him out of Noida.Informing the media about Dinesh Yadav's suspension, SP general secretary Amar Singh said, "No one will be spared, howsoever mighty. If at any stage even I am found to have been involved in this ghastly incident, the CM will not spare me."
