NID begins probe into 'stress on sex' charges
AHMEDABAD: Premier design institute, National Institute of Design (NID), began a formal, though internal investigation, into the allegations against a faculty member for undue stress on sex in the sessions.
An ex-student sent an email to the director of the institute Pradyuman Vyas recently, giving graphic details of sexual overtures during classes conducted by the teacher.

This faculty member of the strategic design management also took similar sessions for students of IIM-A. The committee set up by the institute began taking statements of students, especially the girls, to get leads. The institute also intends to call the student who wrote the email, to lodge a formal complaint.
This student of strategic design management of 2007-09 batch wrote: "Throughout the two-year course, strong emphasis was made on sex, sexual activities and genitals. In almost every class, issues were tried to be explained through talks about sex and discussions on casual sex and rape. The professor claimed these activities are a part of experiments for his PhD." The student said that the teacher also made them sign a non-disclosure agreement, which held the student responsible for whatever happened to him during the session.
