NIA summons Geelani’s son-in-law
SRINAGAR: National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday once again summoned several Hurriyat leaders, including Altaf Ahmad Shah alias Fantoosh, son-in-law of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, at their temporary office in srinagar.
Among others, Raja Meraj-ud-din Kalwal was also served notice to present himself on Monday at Humhama camp on Airport Road here.
The Hurriyat spokesman in a statement said, earlier, the NIA had called Altaf Ahmed Shah to Delhi where he was subjected to questioning for several days. Nayeem Khan, Farooq Dar alias Bitta Karaate and Gazi Baba were also summoned to New Delhi for questioning several times, Nayeem khan said.
The spokesman said on 18th of this month, NIA once again issued notices to Altaf Ahmad Shah, Peer Saif Ullah and Raja Meraj-u-Din Kalwal, asking them to attend Humhama office on 24th July.
“Both were preparing to leave for Delhi and had even made necessary arrangements and reserved their tickets. However they were arrested by the state police under section 107 and 151 and after serving detention for 20 days, and were released on July 17th,” he said.
Recently, the NIA raided several offices and residences of separatist leaders and traders, following sting operation by a TV news channel showing Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Farooq Ahmed Dar (Bita Karate) and Ghazi Java Baba, who revealed that funds were channeled to the separatist leaders to orchestrate violence in Kashmir valley.
Meanwhile, syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwiaz Umar Farooq criticized the thrashing of the police men by soldiers in Ganderbal.
