Never said I or someone else should retire at 75: Bhagwat
New Delhi: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday scotched speculation about him wanting Sangh Parivar netas, including those in BJP, quitting their posts after they turn 75, saying, "I never said I will retire or someone else should retire".
Bhagwat and PM Modi turn 75 this Sept 11 and 17, respectively.
The RSS chief was addressing a clutch of questions at a press conference on whether BJP netas, including "an elected Prime Minister", and other Sangh members should step down after they turn 75.
The issue acquired importance because of Bhagwat's earlier comments that appeared to endorse the well-known RSS leader late Moropant Pingle's remark about 75 years being the point where people should make way for their younger colleagues.
The RSS chief also asserted that the delay in the selection of a new BJP president was not because of the Sangh. "We don't decide... if we were the ones deciding, would it have taken so long?" Bhagwat said, suggesting that the delay was because of the BJP leadership's inability to choose a replacement for incumbent J P Nadda.
Bhagwat was speaking at a marathon two and a half hours long question-answer session on the conclusion of his two-day lecture organised as part of the Sangh's centenary celebrations.
While he addressed dozens of questions on a range of issues, a packed Vigyan Bhawan keenly awaited his response to a clutch of questions related to his view on whether those of 75 years of age should quit their posts.
Bhagwat explained that he had merely quoted the remark that Pingle, known for his ready wit, had made in zest when he was felicitated after reaching 75 years.

1.Inculcating Discipline by Ruling majority, BJP, is viewed as Dictatorship by Opposition2.But practicing Dictatorship, stealthily, by Opposition is now termed as Democracy & protection of democratic values3.R.S.S is an extremely good and disciplined Organisaion doing yeoman service to the Nation.4.Ruling party, especially PM Mody is also a follower of RSS discipline.5.CIA and "Deep State" wants a puppet/obeying Govt, under their thumb, which is becoming difficult for them to achieve6.So their aim is to create confusion in RSS and divide BJP to oust Modi, to install a puppet (The puppet will not be from RSS or BJP, though their services will be utilised to oust PM Mody)7.This fact is known to all. 8.They may even bring the assumed Agenda of All States v/s Gujarat8.In the circumstance, my request to R.S.S will side with BJP Govt, out of love or hatred, atleast till Trump is at the helm(we know CIA and Deep State are directing in U.S.A, irrespective of whether Democrats or Republicans are in power)9.Organisationally R.S.S is strong and disciplined10.But politically you have limitations. In India, RSS:(a)Cannot ensure victory of good Hindu candidates (eg: Metroman E.Sridharan like persons), even in Hindu Dominated areas(b)Whereas, victory of a candidate belonging to Non-Hindu origin is always assured in a Non-Hindu majority areasSo my earnest request to R.S.S not to pull down/ or belittle B.J.P candidate in a Hindu Majority area.Read allPost comment
