Narendra Modi takes oath as PM for 3rd term

Narendra Modi, 73, was sworn in as the Prime Minister for a third consecutive term on Sunday, leading a coalition government. This achievement puts him on par with India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who secured victories in the general elections of 1952, 1957, and 1962.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's attire for the Oath Ceremony

As Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for a third consecutive term on Sunday, he opted for a distinctive attire that reflected his signature style. The Prime Minister wore a white kurta and churidar with a blue chequered jacket for the occasion, which took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan's forecourts. To complete his look, Modi chose black shoes that complemented his outfit.

This is not the first time the Prime Minister has showcased his sartorial choices during his swearing-in ceremonies. In 2014, when he first took oath as the Prime Minister, Modi donned a cream linen kurta-pyjama with a beige golden jacket. Similarly, for his 2019 swearing-in, he selected a comparable ensemble, coupling it with a beige jacket.
