AHMEDABAD: The Nanavati Commission is likely to summon Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi for questioning in connection with the post-Godhra riots of 2002. The summons, according to sources, will be issued after Uttarayan.
The commission expects to wind up the legal process before the 10th anniversary of the tragedy that falls on Feburary 27 so that it can submit its report by March 31, when its extension ends.

The commission, comprising retired Justices G T Nanavati and Akshay Mehta, told the Gujarat high court on Thursday that it did not wish to seek another extension - it has already got 18.
