'Shocked by betrayal': Muzaffarpur MP Ajay Nishad quits BJP, joins Congress

NEW DELHI: BJP MP from Muzzafarpur Ajay Nishad has resigned from all posts and primary membership of the party and joined Congress on Tuesday.

Nishad while announcing his resignation said that he was shocked by the betrayal of the party.

"Respected @JPNadda ji, shocked by the betrayal of @BJP4India, I resign from all posts and primary membership of the party," said Nishad in a post on X.




The two time MP from Bihar's Muzzafarpur was replaced by Raj Bhushan Nishad in the fifth list of candidates released by BJP.

Ajay defeated Raj Bhusan in 2019 elections with more than 4 lakh 10 thousand votes.

In 2019, the NDA, comprising BJP, JDU, and LJP, won 39 out of 40 seats in Bihar while the Mahagathbandhan, led by RJD, INC, and RLSP, secured only one seat.
